Biography

Ahsan Nasar was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He began serving in the U.S. Army Reserve in 2001. Nasar earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Austin in 2005 and a law degree from St. Mary's University in 2008. His career experience includes working as an attorney and lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Nasar has been affiliated with the American Legion.[1]

When I was asking people to sign my signature petition, I asked a 40-year old woman who worked at Giant on whether she could afford to live in Fairfax County. She looked at me a choked up my saying that she still lived with her parents.

I have to be mindful of raising taxes on the masses when the elite are largely able to avoid tax increases. I recognize that my constituents are not writing me a blank check to fund government. Revenue received is a responsibility.

TERM LIMITS Will self-impose term limits and will cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits amendment of three (3) House terms and two (2) Senate terms and no longer limit.

CRIME Will develop multi-pronged solutions to rising crime and improve first responder recruiting & retention.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING Will champion federal funding for affordable housing for teachers, first responders and other blue-collar occupations.

MEDICAID, MEDICARE, SOCIAL SECURITY Will prioritize Medicare and Medicaid funding before foreign aid and defense spending. It is critical that we invest in our own communities.

PALESTINE/FOREIGN POLICY Immediate, permanent ceasefire; More accountability in U.S. foreign policy. [2]
