The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Tillman Pugh was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Lesley Vance defeated Alex Balkcum and Mervin Dudley in the Republican primary. Vance defeated Pugh in the general election.[1][2][3][4]
