I am a Christian, wife, mom and ordinary blue collar hardworking taxpayer who’s fed up with being taxed into poverty and fighting an overreaching government. I’m a proud 7th generation Texan and lifelong resident of Jasper County, which is one of the original counties of the Republic. My husband, Hubert Jr and I have been fortunate to have had the privilege of raising our two sons on the land that’s been in my family since Texas became Texas. On June 7th, I announced my candidacy for HD 21 State Representative to unseat Dade Phelan. Knowing full well I’d be the underdog in this race, I had the courage to make the decision to step up and run for the first time because someone had to do something. Our Conservative values are under attack and the real people of our district have had no voice, no representation or anyone standing up for us—except for me. Rural life in Texas is already hard, but it’s even harder when you’re forgotten about, ignored, discredited and intimidated by elected representatives like we have been. People are scared of our government and that’s not how it’s supposed to work. We deserve better than that. I’m asking people to send me to Austin so that I can continue being the strongest most consistent voice, and passionate advocate to eliminate property tax and fierce defender of our God-given constitutionally protected most fundamental rights that I have been being when the eyes of Texas were not even upon me.

There’s so many issues that are in desperate need of attention and a complete overhaul, but to name just a few:
Budgets, spending and Equal Taxation
Local government and political subdivisions
Public Education
Family Court System
Veteran Services for our underserved rural veterans
Agriculture and Wildlife

There’s so many, but I will just list two. My Daddy is my first hero. He had a very hard life, but worked hard his entire life to make sure his family wouldn’t have the same life he did. He was a big man with an even bigger heart; a protector, Vietnam Veteran, logger, a badass heavy equipment operator and pipeliner. He had a work ethic like no other and I am proud to say he passed that on to me.

My nephew, Riley is another hero of mine. He passed away after a long hard 443 day battle to survive an undiagnosed congenital heart defect. Riley was always happy. He loved the Lord, his family, his “brother-cousins” and loved music. He never gave up even though he suffered daily, and fought a hard uphill battle until the end. He passed away in 2019 while waiting for a double heart and kidney transplant just after turning 18. His testimony humbles me.

I am a born doer, protector and defender with a heart to serve. I also have integrity, morals, and a backbone. I’m also passionate, determined and dependable.

There are many responsibilities, but the one that I believe matters most is to remember they work for and answer to the people who elected them, not to corporations, lobbyists or campaign donors. To engage and interact with and keep their constituents properly informed.

I’m not interested in leaving a legacy. I’m interested in defending our Conservative values that are under attack and protecting our God-given constitutionally protected freedoms and liberties for my children, future grandchildren and beyond so that they have an opportunity to enjoy and benefit from them. At the rate we are going, all those who have fought and died for our freedoms and liberties in order for us to enjoy them without government interference has been in vain.

Babysitting at 9yrs old. Seems like a lifetime job at times!

Nope! Career politicians and the establishment are why we are where we are right now. It’s time for real people to start taking the reins back for their government

I’ve heard thousands, which is why I threw my hat in the ring. Property taxpayers are struggling and being taxed off their own private property, but our elected representatives do not care. Families are being torn apart. Children and parents alike are being denied equal parenting rights, but our elected representatives do not care. Veterans and seniors are doing without, but our elected representatives do not care. Our ag, timberlands and hunting lands are being destroyed or sold to foreign investors, but our elected representatives do not care. Why? Because they’re paid not to care.

Dade Phelan tells it best:
I just gave taxpayers the largest tax cut in the history of the world!!

Yes. Grant, oversee and limit only when necessary without cherry-picking disasters.

Eliminate property tax with a constitutional provision of never having another

It’s still early in September, but so far numerous individuals, too many to list here, along with small businesses and true public servants have endorsed my campaign. Russell Bennett, founder of the nonpartisan 25,000 + member citizen advocacy group, Eliminate Property Tax, has endorsed my campaign and has offered use of the group logo as my campaign logo, which I am honored to say is the first time he’s ever done so. Robert & Carole West of the Five Star Plan have also endorsed my campaign. I anticipate many more from the support I am getting early on.
