Brian C. Wimes is a federal judge serving a joint post on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and Western District of Missouri. He joined the court in 2012 after an appointment from Barack Obama. At the time of his appointment, he was a circuit court judge for the 16th Circuit Court in Missouri.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
Judge Wimes graduated from University of Kansas with a B.G.S. in 1990 and from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 1994 with a law degree.[4][3]

On September 22, 2011, President Obama (D) nominated Brian C. Wimes to the seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.[2]
Obama commented on the nomination, stating, "I am proud to nominate this outstanding candidate to serve on the United States District Court bench. Judge Wimes has a long and distinguished record of service, and I am confident he will serve on the federal bench with distinction."[4]
Wimes was rated Unanimously Qualified by the American Bar Association. He had a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on November 14, 2011. Click here to see his committee questionnaire and here for his questions for the record.[5]
On Monday, April 23, 2012, the United States Senate confirmed Wimes to the joint seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri with a vote of 92-1.[6][7]
Wimes joined the court after receiving his commission on April 30, 2012.[3]
