I'm just a working mom looking out for hard working families like mine. Currently, I am honored to represent the people of the 93rd District and serve their needs. Serving on four different committees: Conservation and Natural Resources, Local Government, Homeland Security and Workforce Development, I am able to bring my expertise to help craft legislation for the benefit of all Missourians.

  • I strongly support fully funding public education.
  • I believe in all people's right to reproductive healthcare and making their own medical decisions.
  • We need common sense gun laws to protect the public.

As a cancer survivor, healthcare is my top priority. Whether it's access to affordable healthcare, building resources in rural communities, or defending abortion access, I am giving my all to the fight. Following the birth of my son, I filed HB 2822 for parental and medical leave so all families are able to care for their loved ones while still paying the bills. My passion for disability rights and employment permeate all of my actions as a legislator. Persons with disabilities deserve the opportunity for integrated, competitive employment for fair wages. We will not have marriage equality in this state until folks can get married without losing their disability payments and services.

I'm a lifelong St. Louisan and the Democratic nominee for District 93. I graduated from Ursuline Academy then went on to attend Bradley University's Institute of International Studies in Peoria, IL. In 2014, I was diagnosed with stage 3 osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, which cost me a year of chemotherapy and a lifesaving amputation of her right leg. I was lucky, I had good health coverage. But there are two many people in our state that struggle with the cost of healthcare or can't get the care they need at all. That's why I'm running for office. I'm running to fight for quality healthcare, strong unions, and better schools for every Missourian.

  • We need to address the cost of healthcare in Missouri. We need to start by fully funding Medicaid Expansion next year, but there is so much more we can do as well to ensure everyone has access to quality, affordable healthcare.
  • Strong unions lead to strong wages and a strong economy. I will always support the right to collectively bargain in both the public and private sector, which leads to better wages, better benefits, and better conditions.
  • Our education system is an investment in our children and our future, and we need to make it a priority. We must end cuts to K-12 education and higher education, and we need to start paying teachers more to attract people into the profession.

As a cancer survivor and an amputee, I am all too familiar with the inadequacies of our current healthcare system. The path to achieving our goals in expanding access to healthcare begins with fully funding Medicaid expansion, but the work will not end there. I will take my personal experiences to Jefferson City to advocate for all Missourians to have access to quality healthcare.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Missouri

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
