Cheryl Chambers is a judge for the 2nd Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. She assumed office in 2008. Her current term ends on December 31, 2027.

Chambers is also a judge of the New York Supreme Court 2nd Judicial District. Her current term ends on January 1, 2027.

Education

Judge Chambers obtained a B.A. degree from Brooklyn College (1973), a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law (1976), and an M.B.A. degree from Rutgers Graduate School of Management (1984).[1][2]

Career

Judge Chambers began her legal career in 1985, working in the Kings County District Attorney's Office. Ten years later, she was elected to the New York City Civil Court, where she served through 1998. She was then elected to the New York State Supreme Court (2nd Judicial District, Kings County) in 1999, effective January of 2000. She was appointed to the Appellate Division in February of 2008.[1][2]

Miller was re-elected to the Supreme Court 2nd Judicial District in the general election on November 6, 2012. She ran on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party tickets.[3][4]
