For legislators residing within Maricopa County: $35/day for the first 120 days of regular and special sessions and $10/day for all following days. For legislators residing outside of Maricopa County: $238/day for the first 120 days of regular and special sessions and half that amount after the 120th day. The per diem for legislators residing outside of Maricopa County is tied to the federal rate.

Christopher Mathis (Democratic Party) is a member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 18. He assumed office on January 9, 2023. His current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Mathis (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the Arizona House of Representatives to represent District 18. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the Democratic primary on July 30, 2024.

Mathis was appointed to the Arizona House of Representatives to replace former Rep. Randall Friese (D).

Biography

Christopher Mathis earned an A.B. in history from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989, a J.D. from the University of Illinois in 1993, and an M.P.A. and M.P.H. from Harvard University in 2013 and 2016, respectively. Mathis' career experience includes working as a professor with the University of Arizona, an attorney, and a consultant with the Harvard Medical School Department of Health Care Policy.[1]
