Colorado 1950 ballot measures
Three statewide ballot measures were on the November 7, 1950 ballot in Colorado. Two measures were approved and one was defeated.
- Two measures were legislatively referred constitutional amendments.
- One measure was an initiated constitutional amendment.
In Colorado in 1950, citizen signature petitions can be used to put either initiated constitutional amendments or initiated state statutes on the ballot. Citizens also had the power to repeal legislation via veto referendum. Read more about Colorado's initiative process here.
The Colorado General Assembly may also place measures on the ballot as legislatively referred constitutional amendments or legislatively referred state statutes. Referred amendments require a two-thirds (66.67%) vote each chamber of the legislature.
