|I am a former community organizer on President Obama and Hillary’s campaign, who started a successful small business, Cohear, that brings leaders and community members together to solve problems and improve local policy. As a proud Walnut Hills High School and Georgetown graduate, I had many opportunities and a great sense of community. This is why I work tirelessly to create an even stronger community that gives families and youth the opportunities to thrive. The work I do at Cohear is about helping Cincinnatians build their sense of community.
Listening and learning is the core of my platform because it is vital for successful community collaborations and relationship building. I quickly learned the importance of listening and learning during my time as a grassroots organizer for President Obama’s campaign in Ohio, Hillary Clinton and other Democrats in Texas and Virginia, and while interning at the Obama White House during my time at Yale Law School. The common thread that made me successful with Cohear, organizing across the nation for amazing Democrats, and interning at the White House was my ability to truly listen and learn what the community desires. By understanding the needs of the community, I can help be the bridge that connects the community to the people who can enact change for the issues they seek change about.
- Economy and Careers: Free Community College and Apprenticeships. Being able to provide for your family, to make sure they have a roof over their heads, enough to eat, have presents at the holidays and make memories on vacation - those are the things that come from a good career. We need our state to be doing more to invest in pathways into the building trades, to become nurses, firefighters, or bus operators. From apprenticeships to making community college free, Ohio can do more to make sure that everyone - regardless of degree - can access the kinds of jobs that give stability and purpose.
- Gun Violence and Safety: Common Sense Solutions. I have spent too many evenings organizing community efforts with mothers who lost their children, students who feared for their safety at school, and seniors who have seen their neighborhoods go through cycle after cycle of loss. I have spoken to gun violence survivors, though, who are leading the effort to bring safety and common sense to how we approach these challenges. Safer gun storage, better counseling for young people, and stronger community relationships will all save lives and make our communities safer. Smart, common sense approaches are about more than just acts of gun violence, they will help address suicides and accidental deaths as well.
- Universal Pre K. I have gotten to see the positive impact that Preschool Promise has made for Cincinnati families firsthand, and believe we need to invest in universal pre-K at the state level. We can’t just have a plan for pre-K, though, because parents of kids at every age need safe places for their kids to stay and learn. For too many, access to childcare either costs most of their paycheck, or is out of reach entirely. The pandemic has made the challenges even more acute. I have worked with employers, parents, and kids in every neighborhood of our city, hearing about how businesses can’t hire and grow, people can’t take promotions, and kids aren’t ready for school because the childcare options just aren’t there.
I am passionate about Common sense gun laws, proper funding for universal Pre-K, giving labor unions the support and funding they need to create more free apprentice ship programs, free community college, and more investment in policy and programming to protect and support senior citizens so they can age with dignity.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
