Elaine Smith (Democratic Party) was a member of the Idaho House of Representatives, representing District 29B. Smith assumed office in 2002. Smith left office on December 1, 2020.

Smith (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Idaho House of Representatives to represent District 29B. Smith won in the general election on November 6, 2018.

On January 25, 2020, Smith announced that she would not seek re-election and would retire at the end of her term.[1]

Elections for the Idaho House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Elaine Smith was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Terrel "Ned" Tovey was unopposed in the Republican primary. Smith defeated Tovey in the general election.[8][9][10][11]

Smith won re-election in the 2012 election for Idaho House of Representatives. Due to redistricting, she ran in District 29B. She was unopposed in the Democratic primary[12] and defeated Craig Cooper (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[13][14]

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Elaine Smith won re-election to the Idaho House of Representatives District 30B receiving 56.9% of the vote (8,414 votes), ahead of Republican Chris Stevens who received 43.1% of the vote (6,382 votes).[16]
