Jed Sanborn is a self-employed accountant in Madison, Wis. Prior to establishing his own firm in 2001, he worked as an accountant at Porter & Sacks in Madison. From 1995-1998, he was employed as a golf professional at Odana Hills Golf Course, also in Madison. He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in political science, international relations, international business and accounting. Sanborn served as an Alderperson on the Madison City Council from 2005-2010.[1][2]

Two John Doe investigations, beginning in 2010 and ending in 2015, were launched by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm (D) into the activities of staff and associates of Gov. Scott Walker (R).[3] Two of Sanborn's clients, the Wisconsin Club for Growth (WCFG) and Citizens for a Strong America, were targets of the second John Doe investigation. Sanborn received a subpoena asking for four years worth of tax information for the two organizations and four years worth all correspondence with anyone in the organizations.[1]
