Campaign website

LaRe's campaign website stated the following:

Grow the Economy and Small Businesses
I believe in the American Dream. If you work hard and play by the rules, then you should succeed. Government shouldn’t be in the business of picking winners and losers. We need to eliminate burdensome regulations, so our small businesses can grow and prosper.

Strengthen Our Borders
America needs strong borders. We need to know who – and what – is coming into our country, and the safety of our communities is in jeopardy. I will work every day to secure our borders and protect our nation.

Balance the Budget
I firmly believe in the Balanced Budget Amendment. American families have to live within their means, it’s time our government does too. We cannot saddle our future generations with undue financial burden.

Be Energy Independent
We need a plan to become energy independent. Our government needs to get out of the way and eliminate regulations and unnecessary taxation. I will support the Keystone XL Pipeline, and other projects that allow for America to produce our own energy.

Defend the Second Amendment
The right to bear arms is guaranteed in our Constitution. I am an unabashed defender of our 2nd Amendment, receiving the highest ratings from the NRA and Buckeye Firearms Association.

Protect Innocent Life
I am proud to be 100% Pro-Life. I have a strong voting record supporting life and making adoption a viable option for families across our great state. [4]

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Ohio

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Ohio scorecards, email suggestions to [email protected].
