Raatz's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[5]

Economy

  • Excerpt: "I believe we should [keep] taxation and regulation at a minimum, affording Hoosiers the ability to make sound business decisions, and we should purposefully attract other businesses to establish themselves in Indiana."

Education

  • Excerpt: "...we must work with Colleges and Universities with a focus on STEM based course work, creating degrees and vocational programs at the local level. We must retain as much control as possible at the local level."

Agriculture

  • Excerpt: "We must work diligently to protect Agriculture from additional taxation and work to be a leader in innovation in each sector. Finally, with some 83% of Indiana’s land supporting agriculture, we need to realize that for many families, agriculture has been a way of life for generations and should not be taken lightly."

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Indiana

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
