John Matthew Cannella (1908-1996) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Cannella was nominated by President John F. Kennedy on April 4, 1963, to a seat vacated by Irving Kaufman; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 28, 1963, and received his commission on July 3rd. He assumed senior status on December 31, 1977, and served in that position until his death on October 30, 1996.[1] Cannella was succeeded in this position by Mary Lowe.
