John Pistone
John Pistone was an Independent Conservative write-in candidate for Connecticut's 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House. Pistone initially filed to run as a regular candidate, but he was disqualified before the general election scheduled for November 6, 2018.[1]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent Elizabeth Esty (D) defeated Clay Cope (R), Stephanie Piddock (I), and John Pistone (I) in the general election on November 8, 2016. No candidate faced a primary election in August. Cope defeated John Pistone and Matt Maxwell at the Republican convention. Esty won re-election in the November 8 election.[2][3][4]

Pistone ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Connecticut's 5th District. Pistone ran as an unaffiliated candidate.[7] He faced Elizabeth Esty (D) and Andrew Roraback (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012. He was defeated in the general election by Esty.[8]
