I am a business owner who owns multiple companies primarily focused on hospitality. The past 2 years showed me how out of touch local and national government is with reality and how truly corrupt politics are. My goal is to create change and motivate other successful business owners to step up and get into politics.

  • If you as a voter are happy with how politics and politicians overall are in Nevada than I am not what you are looking for. My goal is to hold myself and others in office accountable, to provide transparency for the state treasurers office so that constituents actually know where their tax dollars are going. It’s time we all get involved to ensure Nevada’s future is bright and growing.
  • The education system in Nevada has long been a topic of conversation and yet we are still at the bottom of every list K-12 nationally. Instead of talking about it we need to fix the problem. I have released a comprehensive plan to start that process and within my first term as Treasurer we will have found the problems and began the turn around.
  • Nevada needs to expand from mining and gaming to include other revenue streams. With the amount of companies leaving NY and CA we should aggressively pursue bringing many of them to NV. Tech and finance should be a focus to diversify as well as large corporations that can significantly add more only revenue but jobs to the state.

I’m passionate about giving back to the State that has offered me every opportunity to succeed. As the next State Treasurer my goal is to make this office the most transparent in the nation. We deserve to know where our tax dollars are being spent. Furthermore, we need to finally fix the education problem that plagues Nevadans because aside from our youth not being properly educated, this issue carries over into many other areas that impact our States sustainability and growth.

I look up to anyone who has battled adversity, found a way to get through it and prosper. We all deal with loss, road blocks, hardship and sadness but the way in which we overcome those scenarios is what matters. I have friends in many walks of life and so I have learned so much by seeing them battle to success. I try to learn and follow through their trials and tribulations as well as my own bc that knowledge is priceless.

Transparency
Honesty
Mental fortitude
Positive attitude
Respect

I’m not one to brag about myself and prefer to allow others to speak about my merits. My closest friends would say that I am loyal, trustworthy, honorable, selfless and giving. I also have a very straight forward mentality and do not hold back when I share my opinions.

I would like people to refer to me as the best State Treasurer Nevada has ever had because I will work tirelessly to create the greatest results for our State.

The passing of my father during my freshman year at the Naval Academy. I had to grow up overnight and face the worlds harsh reality sooner than expected. Looking back is a constant reminder of how life will take you on a roller coaster and as much as we think we are prepared the truth is we rarely are. Experience takes time and as we get older we truly get wiser. I don’t wish my historical event on anyone but I take solace in knowing that I gained an angel to watch over and protect me.

My first job was working for my father as a teenager. I pumped gas, cleaned cars, helped with oil changes, cleaned the restrooms and the parking lot. It taught me humility, determination but most importantly to strive for more.

My first “adult job” was with Bell Atlantic Mobile which is now Verizon wireless. I was a sales person and received several awards during my tenure there.

I have several but the fountainhead stands out. Initially when it was recommend to me I thought I would NEVER finish it but once I started it was impossible to put down.

Crazy how long ago that book was written and we battle with many of the books lessons/issues today.

Kane Brown’s “Be like that”. I’m not even a big country fan but that a catchy song.

Life has thrown many curveballs at me beginning with my father’s passing, crooked partners, a few difficult breaks ups, family issues, physical injuries and much more. None of us walk the earth without receiving battle scars along the way but the ability to overcome it and turn that struggle into motivation is what I’m proud to have accomplished.

This office has many important responsibilities but the main ones that I am focused on is making the office itself transparent and helping to finally fix the education problems that many elected officials have discussed but never fixed.

We must hold each other accountable as elected officials and follow through on the promises we make.

The State Treasurer has 5 “BDR’s” bill draft requests per session that are submitted to the legislature.

Not necessarily. We see time and time again how career politicians are not getting the job done. We need the best people for the job and although previous experience might help it should not be a requirement.

People skills to motivate and support the staff.

Business acumen

General business experience with payroll, budgeting, marketing, finance and savings.

The Treasurer needs to be able to work well with other elected officials so make sure bi partisan support is available to put the constituents first.
