Marc Pacheco (Democratic Party) is a member of the Massachusetts State Senate, representing the 3rd Bristol and Plymouth District. He assumed office on January 4, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.
Pacheco (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Massachusetts State Senate to represent the 3rd Bristol and Plymouth District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Beginning in the 2015 session, Pacheco served as Senate President Pro Tempore.
On February 14, 2024, Pacheco announced that he was not running for re-election to the Massachusetts State Senate.[1]
Biography
Marc Pacheco lives in Taunton, Massachusetts. Pacheco earned an associate degree from the University of Massachusetts, a bachelor's degree in human services from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University), and a master's degree in public administration from Suffolk University. He has served as the chair of the Council of State Governments Eastern Regional Conference's Energy and Environment Committee, on the board of trustees of the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation, and on the National Conference of State Legislature’s Task Force on Energy Supply.[2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Marc Pacheco was unopposed in the Democratic primary. David Rosa was unopposed in the Republican primary. Pacheco defeated Rosa in the general election.[7]

Pacheco won re-election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts State Senate First Plymouth and Bristol District. Pacheco was unopposed in the September 6 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8][9]
2010
Pacheco won re-election to the First Plymouth and Bristol District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. David Pottier ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

On November 4, 2008, Pacheco won re-election in the Senate election for the First Plymouth and Bristol district.[10] In this election he raised $160,603; of that total $152,253 (94.8%) was from in state contributions and $8,350 (5.2%) was from out of state contributions.[11]

Pacheco was born and raised in Taunton, Massachusetts. He is married to Barbara Pacheco. Pacheco has been involved with a number of organizations, including the Taunton Lodge of Elks, United Way of Greater Taunton, National Environmental Policy Institute, National Democratic Leadership Council, New England District Export Council, and the Community Education Foundation. He was formerly involved with the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation, Morton Hospital and Medical Center, and the Portuguese American Civic Club.
