I am recently retired having taught math for 34 years in Columbia Public Schools, including at West Junior, Jefferson Junior, and Hickman High School. I have served as the Mathematics Department Chair and a member of the school's Leadership Team. In 2011, I was awarded the 2011 NEA Member Benefits Award for Teaching Excellence. I have been extensively involved with my local teacher’s union, where I have served in many capacities, including as President from 2015 to 2021. As a member of the Bargaining Team, I’ve fought for improved compensation and working conditions for teachers across the district. I’m running for state representative because our students are under attack by the politicians and special interests in Jefferson City. They are trying to systematically dismantle Missouri’s public education system and they’ve made sure Missouri has the loosest gun laws in the country. As a teacher who has gone through too many classroom shelter-in-place drills, I’ll go to Jefferson City to: Protect public education Combat the gun violence epidemic Protect and improve workers’ rights Fight for social equity for all Missourians I’m also a member of Moms Demand Action and a long-time member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish. I live in Columbia with my husband, Doug, and am a proud mother and grandmother.

  • I believe every child has the right to a high quality public school that is safe and fully funded with a high quality well paid staff.
  • I believe the income gap is ruining Missouri and our country. We need to protect and improve workers' rights, as well as improve wages to meet the financial demands of working families.
  • Gun violence is a real threat to our safety and security. We must enact legislation that curbs the prevalence of guns in our communities.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Missouri

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
