|Idahoans deserve representation in line with their values and I am willing to be your voice because your voice matters. I am a retired small business owner who has felt the pain and struggle of regulation and taxation by big government, so I am committed to protecting the integrity of Idaho values: individual freedom, limited government, and fiscal responsibility.
I was born in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho as a 4th generation Idahoan. I am a wife, a daughter, a mother, and a grandmother. I moved to the Treasure Valley in 1984 and have lived on my organic hobby farm in Meridian with my wonderful husband for almost 30 years. My children were educated in the Meridian/West Ada school district. Our family loves to work hard, play hard and serve our community.
I am a hard worker, quick learner, and possess a strong ability to lead, collaborate, and work with others to get the job done. It will be my honor to serve you in the Idaho legislature, so I'm asking for your vote on May 21st.
- As your District 21 Representative, I will oppose burdensome taxes and support efforts to remove government regulations from small businesses.
- As your District 21 Representative, I will fight for your right to free speech, freedom of religion, and to peaceably assemble, as recognized by the First Amendment.
- As your District 21 Representative, I will advocate for common-sense grocery and property tax relief for Idahoans, especially for those on fixed incomes and tight budgets.
I would be honored to serve on the Agricultural Affairs Committee, Resources and Conservation, and State Affairs, however my areas of interest are not limited to just those subjects.
It is extremely important for an elected official to have a strong ability to lead, collaborate, and work with others as well as remain transparent to the people that they serve.
It would be my responsibility to serve the people of District 21 and all Idahoans by representing them they way they deserve... by legislating in line with their values of individual freedom, limited government, and fiscal responsibility.
My first job was gathering and selling night crawlers to fishermen on their way to the river. I had my first sale at 10 and my last as a senior in high school before I left home for the big city of Boise.
The legislative branch by design is for making all of our state laws as well as controlling Idaho's taxing and spending policies. The governor is part of the executive branch, who's job it is to enforce those laws. It's a collaboration which also includes the judicial branch if those laws are broken.
We absolutely have to stop unnecessary spending and protect Idaho from Federal overreach.
It is beneficial for a legislator to have experience, but it's more important to be a hard worker, a quick learner, and have the ability to listen and research.
Collaboration is a must as a legislator. Building strong relationships with others and the ability to talk things through without alienating others will accomplish much more than being divisive and confrontational.
If I could serve as well as Julianna Young, I would count myself blessed.
I have heard many stories along my journey and with their permission, I would be happy to share those when appropriate.
I have several in mind, but will have to check with other legislators to see what they are already working on so duplicate efforts are not wasted.
I am knowledgeable and would enjoy serving on the Resources and Conservation, State Affairs, Environment, Energy and Technology, Business and Agricultural Affairs committees, although I would be limited to just 3.
As stated above, I am committed to protecting the integrity of Idaho values: individual freedom, limited government, and fiscal responsibility.
