Nikki Fried (Democratic Party) was the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services. She assumed office on January 8, 2019. She left office on January 3, 2023.

Fried (Democratic Party) ran for election for Governor of Florida. She lost in the Democratic primary on August 23, 2022.

On February 25, 2023, members of the Florida Democratic Party elected Fried to serve as state party chairwoman.[1]

Biography

Fried was born in Miami, Florida. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s in political campaigning, and a law degree from the University of Florida.[2] Fried worked as an attorney in private practice and as a public defender. She also worked as a government affairs advocate for the marijuana industry.[3]

Fried was elected Florida commissioner of agriculture and consumer services on November 6, 2018, and assumed office on January 8, 2019.
