Patrica C. Fawsett is an Article III federal judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She joined the court in 1986 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. Fawsett was Chief Judge of the court from 2003 to 2008. She is serving on senior status.[1]

Education

Fawsett graduated from the University of Florida with her bachelor's and Master's degrees in 1965 and 1966, and her J.D. degree from Florida Law School in 1973.[1]

Professional career

Fawsett spent her legal career in private practice in the State of Florida from 1973 to 1986.[1]

Judicial career

Middle District of Florida

On the recommendation of Senator Paula Hawkins, Fawsett was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on April 9, 1986, to a seat vacated by Judge John Reed as Reed went on senior status. Fawsett was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 6, 1986, and received commission on June 9, 1986. Fawsett served as the chief judge of the court from 2003 to 2008 before later assuming senior status on August 25, 2008.[1] Fawsett was succeeded in this position by Judge Mary Scriven.
