Rebecca J. Viagran was a member of the San Antonio City Council in Texas, representing District 3. She assumed office in 2013. She left office in 2021.

Viagran (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Texas' 35th Congressional District. She lost in the Democratic primary on March 1, 2022.

Viagran holds a B.S. in geography from Texas State University and an M.P.A. from St. Mary’s University. Her professional experience includes working as city council aide and as an adjunct professor of political science at Texas State University.[1]

The city of San Antonio, Texas, held general elections for mayor and all 10 of its city council seats on May 6, 2017. Candidates had to earn a majority of the votes cast in this election to win. Any race where no candidate received a majority (50 percent plus one) of the general election votes cast for that position advanced to a runoff election on June 10, 2017. The following candidates ran in the general election for the District 3 seat on the San Antonio City Council.[2]
