Robert C. Noonan
Robert C. Noonan is a former multi-bench judge for the Genesee County Court and the Genesee County Surrogate's Court in New York. He also served as an acting justice of the Genesee County Supreme Court. He served as a Surrogate of Genesee County from 1997 to 2015. In 1999, he was appointed an Acting Supreme Court Justice. He was re-elected as a multi-bench judge in 2006.[1][2] Noonan retired from the bench effective December 18, 2015.[3]
Education
Noonan received his B.S. degree from St. Lawrence University in 1969 and his J.D. degree from Fordham University Law School in 1975.[1]
Career
Noonan began his career in 1976 as a private practice lawyer with the firm of Noonan, Mahoney & Yunker and as a First Assistant District Attorney of Genesee County. He left the District Attorney's office for a couple of years in 1978, but continued to work at the law firm through 1996. He also worked in Genesee County as a First Assistant District Attorney from 1980 to 1987 and then as a District Attorney from 1988 to 1996. His judicial career began in 1997, when he joined the Genesee County Surrogate's Court. He was also appointed an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 1999. In 2006, he took office as a multi-bench judge of the Genesee County and Surrogate's Courts.[1]
