Roy Christensen
Roy Christensen was an at-large member of the Lincoln City Council in Nebraska. He assumed office in 2013. He left office on May 17, 2021.
Christensen ran for election to the Nebraska State Senate to represent District 28. He lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Although city council elections in Lincoln are officially nonpartisan, Christensen was identified by the Lancaster County Election Commissioner as a member of the Republican Party.[1]
Biography
Christensen earned a B.S. in speech pathology and audiology from Northern Arizona University and an M.S. in audiology from Idaho State University.[2]
At the time of his 2017 run for re-election, Christensen owned the hearing services business Christensen Audiology & Hearing Aid Center. His professional experience includes service with the U.S. Army Medical Services Corps, for which he was awarded the U.S. Army Commendation Award, the U.S. Army Meritorious Service Medal, and the U.S. Army Expert First Medical Badge.[2]

2017
In response to a question from the Lincoln Journal Star about his goals for the city council, Christensen said, "In my first term I fought to cut property taxes and set spending priorities while working to improve the quality of life for families and seniors. Lincoln is a great place to live, work and raise a family and I will continue to build on the strength of our community by focusing on those priorities the next four years."[5]
He listed the following as the city's three most important services: "Public safety (police and fire), utilities (water and wastewater), roads."[5]
