Tarvin's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[19]

  • Ethics

Excerpt: “If a group’s ethics are in question even if unfounded, the group should go above and beyond all that is expected to be fully transparent in order to prove the accusers to be what they truly are.”

  • Education

Excerpt: "'Local Control' and 'Personal Responsibility', each time we speak of what made this country the most successful in history these two short phrases rise to the top. It is the responsibility of parents to educate their children. We must insist on local control when it comes to educating our youth. More involvement by parents and much more flexibility and input from the classroom teacher are a must."

  • Ninth and Tenth Amendments to the Constitution

Excerpt: "My entire campaign is based on the fact that our State and 'We the People' can say 'NO' to the out of control, overreaching federal government when it mandates anything to our State outside the power given to them by the People."

  • Right to Life

Excerpt: "I feel that abortion should be found illegal due to the fact that those aborted lives have been collectively sentenced to death without individual due process under the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

  • Second Amendment

Excerpt: "Your right to bear arms in order to protect yourself, your family and your property 'Shall Not Be Infringed'. All attempts to record, register or license infringes on your rights to privacy and ownership."

  • Healthcare

Excerpt: "The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was destined to fail from the beginning. We all want Georgians and all Americans to have access to good healthcare, having health insurance affordable or not does not equal quality healthcare."

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Georgia

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
