Susan Brown was a judge of the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals. She assumed office in 1999. She left office on December 31, 2021.

Education

Brown attended Ohio University and the University of the Americas before receiving her B.S. from Kent State University in 1974. After working as a sixth-grade teacher in 1975 and 1976, she returned to school and received her M.A. (special education-gifted and school administration) from Ohio State University in 1979. From 1976 to 1984, she worked for Trans World Airlines. Brown enrolled in Capital University Law School during this time and received her J.D. in 1983.[1]

Career

Brown began her legal career in 1984 as an assistant attorney general for the State of Ohio. She worked as a lawyer in private practice from 1985 through 1994. Brown also worked as the commissioner of the Ohio Court of Claims from 1987 through 1994. She joined the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas in 1995, serving on the Domestic Relations and Juvenile Branch. Four years later, Brown became a judge on the court of appeals in early 1999.[1]
