William Colton (Democratic Party) is a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 47. He assumed office in 1997. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Colton (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the New York State Assembly to represent District 47. He is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024. The Democratic primary for this office on June 25, 2024, was canceled.

Biography

Colton earned his B.A. in Urban Education from Saint John's University, his M.S. in Urban Education from Brooklyn College, and his J.D. from Saint John's School of Law.[1] His professional experience includes working as a lawyer and as a public school teacher.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent William Colton was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Joseph D. Baranello was unopposed in the Republican primary. Colton ran on the Working Families Party ticket and Baranello ran on the Conservative Party ticket.
