William Lindsay Osteen, Sr. (1930-2009) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.[1]

Osteen was nominated by President George H.W. Bush on April 25, 1991, to a new seat created by 104 Stat. 5089; he was confirmed by the Senate on June 14, 1991, and received commission four days later. He assumed senior status on April 3, 2006, and retired on September 14, 2007. When Osteen Sr. left the court, his son William Osteen filled his seat.[1]

Osteen passed away on August 9, 2009.[2][1]
