I’m perfectly happy to assist people with boosting their donation posts when asked, but when that’s the only type of ask I get, it wears on me. It makes me feel like people only see me as their personal reblog machine, like everyone only wants to talk to me when I can be useful to them. So this is a(n extremely) temporary measure. I’m still okay with being tagged in donation posts, though, so I’m not freezing people out completely!
You know, ever since I made this post people have completely ignored me. I still get asks about boosting donation posts sometimes, as if I said nothing, or that no one cares what I said. It sucks that no one gives a shit about what I want and just continue to treat me like their personal reblog monkey or soundboard; it’s like no one sees me as a person. I have had to explain this over and over again and I’m sick of my clear and kindly communicated boundaries being disrespected over and over and over agai. Now I’m just blocking people, no questions asks, if you try this shit with me.
If not, then please consider donating that amount to Safa'a and her family, who are desperate to escape the war in Gaza and start over. The fundraiser is in Euros, but a Dollar is worth an Euro, so you don’t have to convert anything again! Just donate the same amount!

Hi all, I cannot express the depth of sorrow and panic Wafaa (@wafans-blog) is feeling all afternoon seeing the donations that had been so generous and forthcoming this morning slowly trickle down to nothing. Earlier if not for @turian’s reblog observing that there has been 40 minutes without donations, the stagnation would have lasted god knows how long.
Originally when setting up the gofundme page for Shaima and Muhammad (verified by @/el-shab-hussein on vetted spreadsheet as family number 260), Wafaa said this to me, I remember it clearly, “Can we talk about the joy? Days before the war, they were living their lives and building their dreams. I don’t want to diminish that because of what has happened. I want to post about my family’s happiness.”
But clearly as we have seen in Wafaa’s fundraiser for her own children and for her sister and brother, only posts about what trauma or illness had befallen the children of the family conveyed the urgent need for help. I feel torn because this feels like exploiting a family’s pain in order to trade for their survival.
When Wafaa had said this statement about joy to me, she had also told me that her family were at ground zero of the al-Mawasi camp massacre (which happened on July 13, and where the family is STILL LIVING), with more than 100 martyrs. Without exaggeration, there were 3 full days of constant bombardment from multiple warplanes overhead, and drones with machine guns that would fire at anything that moved.
Miraculously and thankfully, Muhammad and Shaima’s families emerged mostly unscathed. Muhammad and Ahmed, Muhammad’s eldest son, had once during the 3 days ventured out quickly to search for water and weeds to feed the younger children’s stomach and they were shot at by the iof in the hand and legs. Muhammad in their video call yesterday thankfully told Wafaa both him and his son’s injuries have healed fine with no further infections.
Wafaa did not want to share this, but she told me earlier this afternoon that I had her permission to post this for you all. Wafaa had only wanted to maintain her family’s dignity in this time, but unfortunately for her this demonstrated help will only come when her family proves to you their tangible and visceral suffering.
I have run out of words to convey how urgently we need to at least save the 10 children in this family. So far we have raised funds for 6 of the 10. Please continue in raising funds so that we can evacuate Zeina and her 3 older brothers as well.

I ask you to support me and not abandon my family. I am sick and carry this burden on my shoulders to save them, but I fight for them. Please share all the posts we publish with them. Please, they need support because the situation is very bad and the child’s condition is also getting worse. Poor nutrition and polluted water bring them many diseases. How happy I am that everyone is trying to save my family. Please don’t give up on my family and support them until the end. They need every one of you able to participate. I’d like to introduce you to Ahed (@ahedalshaer), whose fundraiser is verified by the butterfly effect project (#407 on the list). Ahed is younger than my little sisters and yet she has been forced to shoulder a great burden in seeking donations for both herself and seven members of her family. She is incredibly sweet, and the way she has documented her life is beautiful. Ahed an aspiring dentist who seeks safety and the ability to continue her education. I haven’t known her long, but looking at her blog brought me into her life – particularly her life on October 5th. Ahed speaks of going back in time to her practicum, to her freedom, to her livelihood, to her safety. She speaks of a return for her family.
The lack of donations sent to Ahed and her family threatens their survival and makes a terrible situation worse. When I look at Ahed’s blog I feel a mix of despair and anger at the world that has left Ahed desperate like this – she should not be left to do this on her own. She should not have to feel afraid when posts of hers do not gain traction and donations are stagnant. She should be provided for as much as possible, as should her family.
I’m begging you to hear Ahed’s cries for help. Read her posts, see the beautiful life she has lived, and help her in continuing it. I’m also begging you to share Ahed’s campaign, and to donate as much as you can spare to her and her family. Anything helps! It can be as small as the cost of a cup of coffee.
Oh god, I haven’t been able to post and boost @yousefmoner’s fundraiser lately because I was focused on promoting his brother’s fundraiser and then I had to take a break from tumblr and other socmed sites.
I’m only just now seeing this update that Yousef had gotten sick and collapsed a few days ago and according to the latest posts on his insta, is still unwell and malnourished.
Please donate what you can to Yousef’s fundraiser today. It’s crucial that they are able to collect funds so that they have something to spend for their everyday needs especially now that Yousef is sick. But also, we need to help them reach their goal so that when the border crossing reopens, they will be able to have the needed amount ready to pay the crossing fees, and Yousef can get treated as soon as possible and work on restoring his health.

so, as many ppl know by now, im a mixed Black tme nonbinary person, and my wife (left) is an Afrolatine trans woman. we are both disabled, and my disabilities are so severe that i can no longer work a regular job. my wife, on top of managing her own disabilities, is my full time caretaker, and has also been furiously on the job hunt to try and get us more stable income so we can be less reliant on ebegging to no success. she has a potential job lined up, but until that shakes out and shes able to start getting paid, we need help!
we get less than $150 a month in food stamps, which is not enough to last us the entire month given i have a lot of complex dietary issues and restrictions that make buying food expensive. my wife needs her allergy medication, as she has pretty severe allergies on top of chronic sinusitis, so every day she has to go without is another day she risks another sinus infection she’ll have to deal with. we also just recently had a roommate move out who left a large majority of our apartment in a disgusting state, and we need to buy several types of cleaning products so we can start to deep clean my apartment.
all that to say, we have a lot of expenses with no income right now, and to top all that off, i am diabetic and have not eaten a meal in 6 days. that is extremely dangerous, and i would desperately like to avoid an ER or urgent care visit because my sugar crashed too hard bc i cannot afford to eat. folks can help by donating here, here or here, or can support us monthly here. thanks so much for reading, reblogging and kicking me some change if you can.
