ABSTRACT The turn to materiality as an increasingly important element of the study of the Middle Ages both emerges from and responds to a range of intellectual and epistemological trends over the last forty years or so. One field which might provide fertile ground for the centering of such questions is precisely that of digital textual editing, both because of advances in the theory of critical editing and because the digital mode may offer alternative spaces to accommodate material aspects of manuscript culture to those of printed editions. In what follows then, I aim to review what digital critical editing of iberomedieval works has done so far, and what the future might hold for materiality in digital iberomedievalism.

The survival of the -ra verb form in Castillan was contingent on a range of syntactic modifications in the system. Its preservation was due, in great part, to the possibilities offered by the form in dislocated, counterfactual contexts. An example of such a context is provided by conditional sentences. This paper examines the function of the -ra form in the conditional sentences of the «Estoria de Espanna», with a view to establishing, how the usage of the verb form came to be modified

The Iberian Peninsula has been, historically, a crossroad of peoples, cultures and intellectual exchange. In its evolution, the Middle Ages, and particularly the 13th century, were essential for the crystallisation of the Iberian identities and the series of institutions that would result in the creation of the states that now occupy the peninsula.

With a multidisciplinary approach, experts in different fields have been invited to share their views on different aspects of Iberian Medievalism: the study of institutions, how religion was understood, the art that was created, and to the literature produced during the period. Always with the goal of offering a kaleidoscopic view that incorporates the different political identities that coexisted in the peninsula: the different Christian kingdoms and the Islamic presence of Al-Andalus.
