I don’t know about you, but besides being a big fan of Brittany Murphy, as you can see (after all, this fan page is 10 years old 😳), I’m also a big fan of movies!
Being able to see behind the scenes of a story I like is fascinating to me. There is great teamwork, which are responsible for giving us a wonderful result in the end.
Take a look at this photo from 2002: Brittany and Dakota in the middle of summer, protecting themselves from the sun with the help of the crew in New York, while resting after a scene.
For those who don’t know, films take months from recording with the actors to reaching the final process of editing the material, so even though it was released in August 2003, the film was entirely recorded in 2002. Cool, right?
Here we see Jesse Spencer, Brittany, Marley Shelton and Dakota Fanning with producer Allison Jacobs, at the premiere of Uptown Girls in New York!
For those who don’t know, Allison worked on the movie helping on the development of Molly Gunn’s story, admitting that she kind of got some inspiration from her own life, when she was a young woman living in New York and also being a nanny herself.
The process took 5 YEARS to be made! No wonder why is so wonderful, lots of hard work on that script!

🌷 If it depends on our vision as fans, of course the answer will be cliche: that she is amazing, but what did Brittany have to say about her character?
“I love Molly. When the film opens, she’s not the most responsible woman, but she has a zest for life and an openness that I find incredibly refreshing.
To be able to play a character trying to find herself and figure out what she’s going to do with her life, a girl waking up to the possibilities and realities of life in such a vibrant and exciting way – what a dream! It was just sprinkled with pixie dust – it was very magical and felt very personal to me. I’m so incredibly glad to have been a part of the film.”
I think we can all agree that what made this character even more special is the fact that she definitely have some similarities with Brittany. A beautiful charismatic person. 🌸
Teen Choice Awards, 2003. ✨
As part of their schedule of engagements to promote Uptown Girls, Brittany and Dakota attended many events, including the Teen Choice Awards, where they had the opportunity to take the stage to present Adam Sandler with his “Choice Hissy Fit” award! 😍 I love that!
🎬 If you watched Uptown Girls 100000 times like me, you probably noticed that the amazing actress, singer and model, Carmen Electra, made a cameo appearance on the movie!
