Meet the LeBeaus
I love Brackenpaw in the graphic novel so much oh my god. Heās so polite and he only speaks in normal (by normal, I mean not-all-caps lettering youād see in day to day) lettering. Itās probably to contrast him with how excitable and loud Cinderpaw is, but since Every Single Other Character always talks in all caps it just makes him seem like such a polite quiet little guy.. I adore him so much
Tumblr Tuesday: Julycanthropy
Yes, it's that time of year again. We're celebrating July the only way we know howāby sharing some excellent lycanthropic art from across Tumblr.Ā We hope all (were)wolf-enthusiasts enjoyed the Buck Moon on Sunday, and that you delight in these powerful beasties, brought to you by your very own #artists on tumblr.
(Please proceed with caution if blood, gore, or animal parts squick you out, as there is mild body horror aheadāyou know, the kind you might expect on a post about humans morphing into creatures and vice versa.)
Girls when their periods sync
I'll delete this later and I know the post caption is probably just a cute joke thingie, but I love this piece so much, not only because the art is beautiful but because this is exactly what I'm trying to do with my artwork too, make women into little creatures! This makes me feel so represented because women almost never get representation like this. Again I know this caption was more of a "meme" than a serious thing but it still made me happy! I know this wasn't the artist's intention and these are my own personal thoughts - this might sound stupid but it took me so long to figure out I was a woman because I never even realised that women can be like this. I don't mean literal werewolves obviously, but it's hard to explain - the fact that you can point at a picture of hairy werewolves dancing and say "girls on their period" instead of "little guys/bro's night". Yknow how everyone looks at a creature/animal and goes "he/him/little guy" assuming that everything is male by default, because people usually only recognise women when they are pink/girly - because womanhood is mostly a performance. Men can exist as they are, they don't have to shave, have eyelashes, etc. and everyone will recognise them as "men", while women have to do this whole performance. You would have to glue long eyelashes, boobs and pink paint on a an animal to make people recognise it as a "she". This is not every case ofc but it's just mostly what I've experienced.
And for the longest time I thought in order to be a woman I had to do this "performance" as well, because that's just what womanhood is. And it never felt right, I could never do it (especially as an autistic person), which made me believe I wasn't a woman at all. I just subconsciously associated women with pink/feminine/babies/girly stuff... because I never had representation like this. Women existing in their natural state - again, I don't mean literal werewolves - but, hairy, fat, "ugly". I had to LEARN that women can look/be neutral, and even masculine (please don't judge too hard, I was raised in as a hardcore Christian in the worst country in the EU so I had a lot of internalised misogyny to undo).
I only realised it later that women can be so much more. That I can be free. Women can even be hairy werewolves dancing around fire.
This is why I call lots of my creature-characters and clay figurines "she", because to me, it feels so gender-affirming and makes me so happy to have this kind of representation, as weird as it might sound.
Being a gender-noncomforming hairy, stinky woman-creature is absolutely my gender and I'm so happy when I see art like this

Have you ever wanted to play a cute monster taming game with lots of love and heart put into every inch and corner of it by a Team of fantastically talented artists?
Me too!! Too bad it got cancelled literally a few weeks before it was going to be anounced!
Artist Nicholas Kole on twitter along with many other talented artists have been sharing their work of nearly 4 years on this game. I cant imagine the heartbreak of working so hard on this project only for it to get canceled right before Release and everyone on the Team to get laid off.
It was meant to be an open world, minecraft inspired builder, with all sorts of unique creatures with various skins, variations depending on biomes, and even petting animations. That you could tame! It also had a large amount of beautiful and unique character customization. Here's some of the art ( NOT MY ART ) for the project!
Apparently alot of this game was near finished, coded, etc! ( ART ABOVE IS BY NICHOLAS KOLE , JOHANNES FIGLHUBER, INES MARSAL, AND MARIA LOBANOVA )
I dont know if the artists can look into crowdfunding ( the Studio still may own the IP ) , but myself and a few others have been trying to get the hashtag #bringbackprojectdragon get some traction on twitter! Maybe if the internet raises enough stink, the Studio might pay attention. Im not sure how likely that is but I desperately want thus game to exsist, it would be a dream game for me and many others im sure. So please consider joining in if you have a twitter.
