Another happy outcome for our client who recently joined a real estate development firm that is focused on building affordable housing across the country. 🎇 "Elan always made me feel that he was representing my needs 100% of the time when dealing with a potential employer. He helped me land a finance/accounting role in the multifamily development industry and the whole process was effortless and smooth on my end. He guided me through multiple rounds of interviews and always checked in with me along the way. He connected me with a great company and team that I am happy to be a part of. I can not say enough good things. If I ever felt like transitioning to another company (although I can't picture it now because of how good a job he did) Elan would be the first person I call."

    Contract Recruitment at Winchesters

We are working with one of our clients delivering large projects infrastructure projects. They are looking to bring two new contractors onto their team. Contracts Management - They require a contractor who understands terms and conditions and can work to simplify contracts that have become too convoluted. Also, they need someone with experience working on time & material contracts where the supplier has a unionized workforce. Category Management - This will be focused on commodities including valves, pumps & MRO etc. They really need someone who has experience working on the total cost of ownership as opposed to just the price. Both roles are contracts for 12 months with a strong likelihood of being extended for another 12 months. Some travel outside of the GTA may be required. If you would like to know more please send your resume to [email protected] Please note that we can only consider candidates present in Canada and eligible to work.

Last week marked our colleague - Eric Synowicki's first year with Winchesters. His hard work, focus and genuine care for his candidates has made him an invaluable member of the team. A lovely guy, but terrible at go-karting. Happy first work birthday Eric. Here's to many more successful years!

Salary Shifts in Procurement We have seen a shift in Procurement salaries this year that has caught a number of our clients off guard when they have come to recruit. We thought it would be helpful to put out a brief article. It was probably time for a shift as Procurement salaries had stayed fairly constant throughout 2017 – 2022. We have, however, seen this move in the past 12-18 months. Obviously, different locations and industries offer different salary bands. As an example, let us use the GTA Indirect Procurement market. From our data, average salaries have changed fairly significantly, please see below. Procurement Analyst                         2022 - $60,000 - $70,000         2024 - $70,000 - $80,000 Procurement Specialist                      2022 - $80,000 - $85,000         2024 - $80,000 - $100,000 Category/Sourcing/Vendor Manager   2022 - $100,000 - $115,000      2024 - $110,000 - $125,000 Senior Manager                                   2022 - $120,000 - $130,000      2024 - $130,000 - $150,000 Director                                               2022 - $135,000 - $175,000      2024 - $150,000 - $200,000 VP                                                        2022 - $150,000+                     2024 - $180,000+ It is not unexpected that salaries have grown recently with higher inflation rates. However, we are also seeing an increase in salaries due to companies insisting employees come back to the office more often (average 3-4 days a week). Salary bumps have been given to increase employee retention to fight decreased flexibility in the company. However, not all employers have caught up. We see many companies recruiting with a salary target up to 20% under market value. The result tends to be candidates declining the final offer or being counter offered at the end of the process, resulting in a failed recruit. We are also seeing many new candidates realising they are being paid under market value, but their current HR team is not listening, so they are looking for new jobs. If you are a Procurement professional and you are worried that your salary is too low and you would like advice on the market, please reach out. If you are an employer and you are worried your team’s salary levels are too low or if you are looking to hire and you are unsure what salary band to go to market with, please reach out and we will be happy to advise.
