📢Insightful webinar, expert panelists and a strong turnout of 163 participants 📢 📅 The recent webinar on Assistive Products Market Report co-developed with Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. provided us with excellent insights on how to address market failures and enhance the availability of affordable, high-quality assistive products in low- and middle-income countries by presenting a one-stop guide of assistive products for buyers, governments, policy makers and donors! 🌟#ATscale CEO, Pascal Bijleveld, highlighted how today, 2.5 billion people globally need to use at least one type of #AssistiveTechnology. In low-income countries only 10% of people have the assistive technology they need. Market failures like asymmetric information, ineffective supply chains, high import costs, and a lack of supportive ecosystems are underlying barriers. This report serves as a first step in addressing these challenges. 🦼🦻👓🦿📱 🌟Thanks to the esteemed panelists for highlighting how this report can be instrumental for policy makers and also reflecting on steps we can take in the future to strengthen assistive technology markets in LMICs. Indeed, Mr. H.E. Yeap Malyno, representing the Ministry of Social Affairs, Youth and Veteran Rehabilitation (MosVY), the Government of #Cambodia, suggested that this report can be used as a roadmap to help governments develop policies on #AT that are effective, meet quality and #Sustainability standards. 📌 To learn more about the expert panelists: 🔸Pascal Bijleveld, CEO, ATscale 🔸H.E. malyno Yeap, Director General of Social Policy, Ministry of Social Affairs, Youth & Veteran Rehabilitation (MoSVY), Government of #Cambodia 🔸Perry Sella, Director of Global Supply Chain, VisionSpring 🔸Satish Mishra, Head of Global Programme and Markets, ATscale 🔸Dr. Diego Santana-Hernandez, Senior Global Advisor for Ear & Hearing Care, CBM Christian Blind Mission 🔸Ritubhan Gautam, Senior Manager, Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. 📌 If you missed the #Webinar, here you can find the record: https://ow.ly/LIZ150Th7C9 ➡️Coming soon is an online portal for easy searching of the information! 📌Paris 2024: Paralympic Games can catalyse access to #AssistiveTechnology🏅 📢Read ATscale CEO Pascal Bijleveld’s thoughts on increasing access to #AT as the Paris 2024 #ParalympicGames gets underway. 👉”We cannot forget that access to advanced assistive products used by athletes is still far from equal. A lack of access to assistive technology has been demonstrably linked to lower achievements, fewer medals, and reduced representation from athletes in low- and middle-income countries. ” ➡️”However, we must acknowledge that access to advanced assistive products is not the only barrier to competition. In low- and middle-income countries, the provision of advanced #Wheelchairs or #Prostheses must go in tandem with the maintenance and improvements to training, funding, and national sports infrastructure.” With over 1.5 million tickets purchased for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, let’s use this opportunity to drive visibility of #AssistiveTechnology, all year round!📅 🌐Open The International Platform on Sport and Development link here 👉https://lnkd.in/dp_z6-rp #UnlockTheEveryday #Paralympics2024 #BeyondSports #Paris2024
