We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of the updated #Core_Humanitarian_Standards (CHS) in India, including its Hindi translation! Hosted by Sphere India in collaboration with Plan_India and other partners, this landmark event took place on 26th June 2024 in New Delhi, during our Annual Planning and Learning Workshop. The event brought together over 80 participants, including distinguished speakers and panellists who highlighted the importance of CHS in #enhancing_humanitarian_response and #resilience. Highlights included a comprehensive walkthrough of the CHS revision by Sphere India and Mr. Bonaventure Sokpoh from CHS Alliance. This was followed by a panel discussion on localization, climate change, and the evolving humanitarian landscape, with key experts like Mr. Kirit Parmar from Unnati, Ms. Debadrita Sengupta from Bal Raksha Bharat and Dr. Bhanu Mall from IAG Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Mihir Bhatt from All India Disaster Mitigation Institute, who was also part of the revision process, shared his insights on Roadmap for CHS implementation in #India. The session concluded with unveiling and launch of the CHS by all participants present along with Shri. Rajendra Singh, Member and HoD, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)INDIA. Observations and suggestions for next steps include conducting training and capacity-building sessions for national and local organizations on CHS in multiple languages and translating the updated CHS into various local and regional Indian languages. #CHSLaunchIndia #SphereIndia #PlanIndia #HumanitarianStandards #Inclusivity #CommunityEngagement #ClimateAction #CHSAlliance
