注意調校你的熒光屏

光暗度

在討論影象的光暗度的時候，投票者有必要知道他們的螢幕顯示有否被適當地調整。不同的螢幕顯示，它們顯示陰影細節的能力亦大有不同。旁邊為一幅畫了四個暗灰色的圓圈的圖片。如果您能辨明其中三個（甚至四個）圈子，那表示你的的螢幕可以正確地顯示陰影細節。如果你只能夠看到三個以下的圈子，你可能需要調整你的螢幕以及/或者電腦顯示設定。一些顯示裝置可能無法被調整至觀察陰影細節的最理想度數，故此請在投票的時候考慮這點。如果可行的話，也可以考慮把它打印出來。

色彩度

在伽瑪調整的螢幕顯示上從幾尺之外觀看右圖，圖中四個不同顏色的圈子會自然混入背景之中。如果他們完全跟背景混合，你則須要調校你的伽瑪設定（在電腦的輸出設定上，而不在於螢幕顯示），直到它們能彼此融合。調校的過程也許會非常困難，然而輕微的偏差並不是致命傷。未能更正的個人電腦顯示通常會顯示出比背景深色的圈子。請注意，在液晶顯示（無論膝上電腦或者平面螢幕）上觀看圖片，你的觀看角度有很大可能影響螢幕上的影象質素。如有需要，請點選影象以獲得更多技術資訊。

Question Sorry Poco but the focus is on the tail. And this tail is not particularly exciting :-) The head is clearly out of focus. Animal fleeing is also less appealing than an animal approaching. Support I have told people about the corkscrew fallus, this image offers proof. As I understand it, the mallard's has barbs on it. Yes, having browsed through the categories, I noticed we have incredibly few images of this type, and even fewer quality images. I totally agree this one will never make a poster for a living room :-) But it's also original and perhaps more educational than a bunch of solitary ducks walking or swimming on a pond. Oppose Unexceptional light and composition, in my opinion. Dull sky and bland colors. The building in the background and the video camera in the foreground are not really beautiful. Also not convinced this is the best angle for this sculpture, compared to other photos on the internet. Contrast artwork / trees of the same color not working, sorry. Support The original photograph was one of my personal favourites from Wiki Loves Folklore 2023 – it feels so authentic and is aesthetically very appealing because of the contrasts between light and dark and between warm and cold colours. But the original file was a bit noisy and oversaturated. Radomianin has generously created this edited version which greatly reduces the noise and also tones down the saturation a bit. (Yes, the reds are still very saturated, but IMHO realistic when we consider the combination of the vivid red paint on the wall with the warm light from the fire.) Support I like the image, the composition, exposure and the glorious gold colors juxtaposed with the red. I think the "wow" factor exceeds the complications of the long exposure. Fixed. As many pictures were taken that day on a tripod, I could improve this effect with another frame. Oppose I really appreciate the straightforward composition and the atmosphere created by the lighting. However, the absence of any direct light results in a very low contrast between the foreground and the building. Just a touch of direct light on the water fountains would have helped to create separation and add depth. I see what you are saying. I did shoot at f/4 (Prime lens at 500mm without TC) to focus on the eyes and face of the adult ibis and the exchange of food. As for the PNG, I did a quick check and it seems like I'm the only dork using it. I use PNG for lossless compression, preservation of image quality and colors. Wikipedia's suggestion is JPG, so moving forward I will post JPGs. But my previously uploaded images, already uploaded, may appear on FPC as .PNG.

Comment Little bit of an odd image for here: I'd say it's oddly composed but very compelling. Passed En-wiki FPC easily, but Commons evaluates things differently. Vote as you see fit; I shan't take offense, but I would appreciate explanations, because, y'know, there's other images to consider, and having a good idea on how Commons stands helps with pre-filtering them. Support as creator & nominator. There is a lot of detail in this image, but when viewed at 100% zoom, the sharpness should be OK. In my browser, the "original image" link on its page defaults to a much higher zoom (200%???) in which the sharpness of the trees is not the greatest. The rock face on the left foreground is naturally wet year-round and had a trickle of running water behind a layer of ice, which is why some of the ice against the rock face is dark while icicles hanging close to the rock face are bright from the sunlight shining through them. Image was taken in Nikon RAW format and only editing adjustments were to increase both highlight and shadow protection, increase overall brightness just a little, increase saturation just a little, and change white balance from "auto" to "natural light auto". -- AHeneen (talk) 06:04, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No. I'm not quite sure what you mean by over-sharpened. Isn't sharpness fixed when shooting? I disclosed the edits made to the image and the highlight/shadow protection was adjusted so there's more detail in hightlights (especially all the white snow in bright sunlight) and lowlights.
