I'm nominating myself. I've been an administrator on the english Wikipedia for years and a long time contributor to the commons, mostly by adding photographs. There have been times in the past that I could have used commons admin status, but I never got around to asking. The impetus behind this request is the fact that one of my pictures has been requested for speedy deletion for over 48 hours, and it has still not been processed. Any system that has a speedy deletion lag of that much time needs more admins. I'm intimately familiar with many policies and the enjoy the intricacies of licensing. Comment If you are referring to Image:Frog Northeast Pennsylvania B&W 1600px.jpg, while 'bad name' requests can be done without waiting, they are hardly essential like copyvios. You have very low Commons namespace edits...and if you intend to be an admin here (as opposed to, say, just deleting your own mistakes... everyone would like to do that) it would be nice not to redirect your talk page away. So I guess I would just like to know a bit more about your motivation to be an admin here. I don't have any thought that you would abuse the tools, but I don't think it's good to have an admin community of people who mostly aren't active with others here. --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 02:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't mind not redirecting the talk page. It was just easy to monitor one location, but changing it is as good as done. Not really a big deal anyway, since I spend more time on the commons anyway. So anyway, my point was not that the 'bad name' task was critical, just that it was easy. I would obviously like to use admin tools to help out here and there in areas that I would have previously just passed over because they required the tools. My activity on Wikipedia and the commons is always sporadic, since I edit when I have the time. Once in a while I'll go through a deleting spree cleaning out dozens or hundreds of entries in "for deletion" queues. That's about all I can say about that. I'm not going to be spending each and every day doing nothing but deleting copyvios. I'll help, but it won't stop me from contributing. Ram-Man 03:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Oppose I don't "like" "respectable users" who blank their own talk pages. NielsF talk/overleg/discussion/discussione 02:48, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Please look at the history of the page and you'll realize that I didn't "blank" my page (in the traditional sense), I deleted the redirect as requested by a user above. It would be much more correct to say that I have not yet added any additional information to the page, however, I was unaware of a specific requirement to do so or I might have done so sooner. I'm not sure what should be on the page anyway, since I have no other talk page history at this point of which to speak. It seems to work well, since as soon as I blanked the page, someone left me a message on my talk page. -- Ram-Man 03:45, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
