Description

The A2s were the only ex-LNER Pacifics not to receive British Railways' express passenger blue livery - ostensibly because of their 6'2" driving wheels, despite a more liberal application of express blue on the Southern Region. Delivered in LNER apple green, but with British Railways lettering, they went straight into Brunswick Green when this was adopted as standard for passenger locomotives. Preserved 60532 Blue Peter has alternated between these two liveries throughout its life. This fictional image shows what it might have looked like in blue (02-Jan-15).
