Summary

[edit]
Description
English: River Trent looking upstream at Burston Bridge The farmland of Aston Hall Farm on the Aston to Burston Trail is owned by Severn Trent Water and the grazing leased to local farmers. Wetland habitat areas have been created beside the river encouraging otters and lapwings. The otters swim in the River Trent feeding on fish, frogs and small birds. The recent pollution incident involving the release of cyanide and untreated sewage into the river at Stoke has killed all of the fish and food species in this stretch. The otters will need to forage further afield for their food.
