My current aims are to improve wiki articles with which I have a personal local connection with, topics of interest, or newly made articles on local topics. A great way to improve articles on Wiki is creating imagery or sourcing public-domain or creative commons imagery for use on articles and other projects, uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.
I'll be focusing on English-language maps, although non-labelled maps or easy-to-translate maps may be created to assist other users in translating them.
Still trying to create a sort of map style, where the Wikipedia convention on maps may not be suitable or not apply. Also trying to learn and recreate existing map styles to ensure continuity.
Happy to make some maps or general graphics by request, although not every map/style I can do yet. Which is why I have a gallery below.
Not sure how to class my graphics skills, but my gallery should offer some clues?
I am currently reverse-engineering existing types of maps, to ensure my maps meet Wikipedia/Common conventions, standards and consistency. It is hard!
I am aware custom maps are on their way out, replaced by interactive maps, so I guess will focus on more complex maps for a bit longer, and will stop making maps in the future, when hopefully interactive maps are more robust.
