Flickr2Commons

[edit]

I have just come across a few images you have recently uploaded from Flickr. I would appreciate it if in the future, you used the Flickr2Commons tool. This tool allows images to be moved to Commons from Flickr without having to download the images to your own computer. It also brings in the largest resolution of the image, as well making sure to list the correct license and url, making it easy for the automated Flickr Review system. Also, it is fairly easy to categorize images with this tool. To use it, you just need to go to the url and authorize it (where it says "authorise first").--A1Cafel (talk) 07:01, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seconding this, please use Flickr2Commons so we can avoid duplicates.
Upload Wizard sets the filename as "File:Secretary Blinken meets with women leaders.jpg" and Flickr2Commons names uploads as "File:Secretary Blinken Meets with Women Leaders (52722970067).jpg" with the image id.
This leads to duplicates and then an admin, Túrelio in this case, has to go and set up a redirect.
It would be great if we can avoid the extra work. Thank you! // sikander { talk } 🦖 22:25, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any problems of using COM:F2C? You seem to ignore this message. --A1Cafel (talk) 07:43, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Actor"

[edit]

Any basis for this? I cannot find any reference to him as an actor; according to [1] he was a tenor, mainly as a concert performer though sometimes in operas. Anyway, I'm making a category for him: Category:Theo Karle. If there is some basis for "actor" I'd like to know. - Jmabel ! talk 05:17, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A great tenor. His work on early Television was apparently singing, not acting. Thanks for not including that category in his new category. -- Ooligan (talk) 05:39, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Similarly. Conductor of the Seattle Philharmonic (later Seattle Symphony). - Jmabel ! talk 20:16, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open!

[edit]
2022 Picture of the Year: Saint John Church of Sohrol in Iran.

Read this message in your language

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

You are receiving this message because you voted in the 2021 Picture of the Year contest.

Category discussion warning

Rummage sales has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

I noticed you've uploaded File:P20230505AS-1379 - 52908282540.jpg and I thought I should draw your attention to a common error. Please give uploaded files meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the file is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the file itself. Thanks, and happy editing!

  • @Yann, I have notice a few bulk or mass file uploaders, especially files from Flickr.com, who have thousands of photos like the above file example.
Have you brought this issue to their attention?
If so, what was their response(s).

This is not the first time that other users suggest you to use COM:F2C. Please respond to this, or you had any problems using the tool? --A1Cafel (talk) 02:35, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@A1Cafel, I mean, it’s not a policy to upload through flickr2commons (AFAIAC), but certainly that would make others’ work easier. By the way, I came here to kindly ask Ooligan to categorize properly the files he uploaded portraiting Lula da Silva, if possible, as the versions I had uploaded and categorized were simply redirected by @Túrelio.
Now everything is only located here, an inappropriate category, I’d say. Now there are some empty categories like Category:Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Narendra Modi or Category:Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Phạm Minh Chính.
Sincerely, RodRabelo7 (talk) 03:28, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but at least a simple response should be given, either yes or no are fine. I concur with the poor categorization by the user. It takes efforts for others to fix it. --A1Cafel (talk) 03:35, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ooligan, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Opening DRs for duplicate

[edit]

It is unnecessary to open DRs for duplicate file. You can either tag it using {{Duplicate}}, or you wait for a few days until User:OptimusPrimeBot to tag it. A1Cafel (talk) 02:00, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have told this before at User talk:Ooligan#Duplicate. You are creating unnecessary workload for others. --A1Cafel (talk) 02:03, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, you are "creating unnecessary workload for others" as you were told here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:A1Cafel&oldid=689084173#Please_don't_upload_duplicates_again.
You were told by @Edelseider and additional comments by @Huntster here:
User talk:A1Cafel#You did it AGAIN! You have uploaded hundred of duplicates because you were too lazy to check! that,
"I had uploaded them with the Upload Wizard. I had already told you several times before to check if the file is already on Commons before uploading, because Flickr2Commons is not a reliable tool. But of course, you acted again without regard."

Category discussion warning

Georgia Indictments of Donald Trump has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed.

Thank you!

What is your basis for presuming this is Jack Ackroyd in this 1920 stage production of The Better 'Ole? Not specifically saying you are wrong, but the newspaper page does not name him. Yes, he was in the film six years later. Do you have anything more than that? - Jmabel ! talk 21:56, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jmabel, I thought you might say hello!
I found this little nugget tying the play and its actors to the later film by the same name. From an article by Wilbur W. Hendley in The Spokesman Review, dated 13 Apr 1919, Sunday on Page 37 via Newspapers.com
Here: https://www.newspapers.com/image/568379615/?terms=%22The%20Better%20%27Ole%22%20play&match=1
Quote = "The picture is made by the same cast that produced the play originally in England." Ooligan (talk) 22:29, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see that without paying, but does that give reason to think that was who toured it in the U.S. in 1920? - Jmabel ! talk 22:30, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, wait 1919. So was there a 1919 film as well as the one in 1926? - Jmabel ! talk 22:31, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel, Also,
Jack Ackroyd in the ad for the 1926 film looks very similar to the photo that appears in The Town Crier of April 1919. -- Ooligan (talk) 23:02, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page archive

[edit]

Since your talk page included too many templates, it exceeded the limit of MediaWiki software, and the template cannot be displayed properly. You can archive them by pasting {{subst:User:MiszaBot/usertalksetup}} at the top of your talk page, and those messages older than a month will be automatically archived by a bot. Have a nice day. I have put the code for you. --A1Cafel (talk) 07:36, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@A1Cafel, After a review of my talk page, I have discovered that you removed content from my talk page without my permission. I don't know the official Commons policy, but this seems like vandalism. To my knowledge, no other User has deleted any of my talk page content. Apparently, only you.
  • I request that you fully restore all content that you removed from my talk page to its original condition and placement. --Ooligan (talk) 07:41, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • I didn't remove anything from your talkpage. I just put the code so that a bot will automatically archive the content. You can still see the content at the archive page. --A1Cafel (talk) 07:44, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@A1Cafel. Please remove all the "code" that you added to my talk page. --Ooligan (talk) 07:49, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Removed, but can you still consider archiving your talkpage content. Note that archive is not equal to delete, but just moved the content to another page so that the main talkpage can be neat and tidy and the template can be displayed properly. --A1Cafel (talk) 07:52, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      @A1Cafel,
You responded to my request, "I didn't remove anything from your talkpage."
      • I previously wrote, "After a review of my talk page, I have discovered that you removed content from my talk page without my permission."
        • I also wrote, "I request that you fully restore all content that you removed from my talk page to its original condition and placement."
Without discussion or notification, you removed from my talk page:
      1. this
      2. this
      3. here
I agree with @Bbb23 here that "Worse, they deny it." --Ooligan (talk) 09:39, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      I mean this time, not long ago. --A1Cafel (talk) 09:51, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      And you wrote,
"I didn't remove anything from your talkpage."
So, that is not a truthful statement.
Also, I note that you have not restored your deletions from my talkpage as I had requested.
So, please, do not edit my talkpage in any way, except normal Commons communications. --Ooligan (talk) 10:31, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Holding category

[edit]

Hi there, have you thought of using a holding category like Category:Holding for Elisfkc to tag images that need to be categorized and updated? For example File:Daiga Mieriņa tiekas ar Ķīnas vēstnieku - 53377430693.jpg and a bunch more I noticed that need additional work. Also, the language specified for the description is incorrect and that needs fixing too. Thoughts? // sikander { talk } 🦖 02:15, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sikander, you have not been on my talk page since you joined with A1Cafel in advocating for me to adopt the seriously flawed Flickr2Commons (F2C) tool. I still use "Upload Wizard," which is not perfect, but is much better at avoiding creating "duplicate" uploads, than the F2C.
Thanks for your observations. The file you mentioned was uploaded about 1/2 day ago. I will add more categories in the coming days.
Have you really looked at the contents in "Holding for Elisfkc" category? I checked all of the 66 files there. All these files were added to that "holding category" in 2019 or some even earlier- in 2017. They have been holding for years. I have even added categories to some of those files in the recent past as have other volunteers. Your example holding category shows it is not a substitute for just adding more categories, however thank you for your suggestion.
I will update the specified language description on those Latvian files. Thanks, --Ooligan (talk) 04:02, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, right! Infact I think it was Elisfkc who first pointed me to Flickr2Commons for easy uploads. The tool has issues, definitely, and fortunately good people are working on a new version: Commons:Flickypedia. The holding category idea is one I've found useful to easily find files that I want to work on later, and thought it might be useful to mention. Cheers. // sikander { talk } 🦖 05:11, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Sikander, I see your holding category. I had added some categories to the many files being held in Category:2022 United Nations Biodiversity Conference back in July. Let me know, if you need some help, since they were uploaded in December 2022.
"=== A tribute to Flickr2Commons === When we began to design the partnership, we had hoped to “adopt” Flickr2Commons and extend it. In June, we took a good look at the source code in consultation with Magnus Manske and figured out it probably wouldn’t stand up to being extended as it is without significant time invested to stabilise it. The preparation we did for this in June—trying and failing to run the source code locally, for example—indicates that it may be more robust to create a fresh version on the shoulders of Flickr2Commons." (emphasis added) Thanks again, --Ooligan (talk) 06:12, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Investing in America Clean Ports USEPA announcement in Wilmington, NC on 28 February 2024 - 32.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Please, note that these two (2) files had their valid license tags removed without a valid reason in the edit summary, nor any explanation afterwards, by now "indefinitely" blocked User:A1Cafel. Images from Estonian Foreign Ministry Flickr stream

[edit]

Hi. Please note that this Flickr stream includes photos taken in different countries not only ones taken in Estonia. You have added "in Estonia" category or "depicts: Estonia" statement to tens of images that actually don't depict Estonia, most recently e.g. here: Special:Diff/863427927. Often image description or album title in Flickr reveal the actual location, given example also has coordinates. In other cases you can look for vm.ee press releases for extra information. 2001:7D0:81DB:1480:10C5:C18B:C6EA:8EAA 09:28, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Public Domain images (PDM) photos from flickr

[edit]

Dear Ooligan,

Photos with a PDM here license should be tagged with {{PD-author-FlickrPDM}}

This is NOT a CC0 license like this photo A CC0 license would be tagged with {{Cc0}}

Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 22:34, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The United States Government Flickr account of the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) and the photgraph that you linked to above (here) has assigned this Creative Commons license PDM 1.0 DEED Public Domain Mark 1.0 Universal.
My upload of this photo using with UploadWizard yielded this result which claims a CC-Zero here.
  • This appears to be an error with Upload Wizard, because I did not "choose" the license. Instead, Upload Wizard detected a valid Commons license and then applied that license to my selected uploads automatically from the DSS Flickr account. It seems that a different license was placed on Commons than the one chosen the united States Diplomatic Security Service.
@Leoboudv, Is it the "normal" process for Upload Wizard to changed the license from the one used on the Flickr account to a different license on Commons? Thanks, -- Ooligan (talk) 18:53, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: Unfortunately, I don't use the upload Wizard to upload my images so I am not familiar with this process. But when Michael or Admin MGA73 signs in, I hope he can resolve this problem...or suggest a solution so that This Category does not fill with your images. I upload an image at a time...very slowly "Using "Upload File-->Back to the old form-->basic upload form. I have to work a real time job. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 23:58, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You wrote, "I have to work a real time job." @Leoboudv, What do you mean? -- Ooligan (talk) 00:47, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • It means due to my work some days I have time for Commons and other days I have to work full time for my job. I work in the private sector with no pension at all. Work is sporadic and I am a volunteer here. MGA73 is an Admin and operates a bot and he knows more about upload wizard. I did not upload a single image between 2022 and 2023 I don't do mass uploads of images. I don't have the time. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 02:16, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ooligan and Leoboudv: I just tested it by uploading this file: File:Protecting U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield.jpg. I was never asked to chose a license and I never had the option to chose a license. So I could not fix the problem during upload. I will see if I can figure something out. --MGA73 (talk) 14:57, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @MGA73 for running a test.
  • Your upload test confirms what my explanation above.
  • An error appears to be occurring within the Upload Wizard's code, which causes one type of CC license used by some Flickr accounts to be changed to a different CC license, when the file(s) are uploaded to Commons by this tool.
  • This tool's maintainer should be notified and changes implemented, so that the source CC license is accurately applied to all future uploads.
  • This will help prevent 1,000's of files in the future from needing clean up at Category:Flickr public domain images needing human review.
  • You and @Leoboudv dedicated many hours doing a great work recently clearing that backlog in that category.
  • By fixing the Upload Wizard tool, this would be a root cause solution that would reduce the need for valuable volunteer time to fix this issue on 1,000's of files.
--- Yes, as uploader using the current version of Upload Wizard, I do not get to choose the license.
The Upload Wizard tool confirms that each photo's license is compatible to be uploaded to Commons. It then normally applies the license used by the source ("owner") to each file. In this example, photo files sourced from a Flickr.com account used by a United States Government agency.
@MGA73 - What is the status of your request to fix the Upload Wizard tool so that it no longer substitutes the wrong license, or gives the uploader a choice of licenses? I am glad that I brought to your attention that this was a tool issue, because you wrote afterwards that you had thought that it was the users choosing the wrong license in the example above. Thank you for submitting a request to fix the tool. -- Ooligan (talk) 15:08, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just checked Commons_talk:WMF_support_for_Commons/Upload_Wizard_Improvements#Uploading_files_from_Flickr_with_PDM and it seems that there is no more discussion. But someone claimed the task on Phabricator so things might be in progress there. --MGA73 (talk) 17:44, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MGA73, Thank you for the update about the Phabricator task status about fixing and improving licensing issues within the Upload Wizard tool. Again, I appreciate your initiative, along with the help of @Leoboudv, to process the accumulated Flickr license backlog to the benefit of the Commons Project. Hello, Ooligan, having created the Category:George Reber Wieland, I suddenly noticed you created the aforesaid. Since the George Reber Wieland (Q3101852), I was wondering what to do now. Thank you so much for your time. Lotje (talk) 15:42, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lotje, I took a look, but I do not understand what you want to do. Can you please be more specific? Thanks, -- Ooligan (talk) 14:42, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Ooligan for coming back on this. What I meant was, which category to delete. Logically it would be the one I created, but since there is also a Template:Q117750682, it might cause confusion later. Cheers. Lotje (talk) 14:48, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Lotje Do you mean this https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q117750682 ?
Yes, you created a category in 2024, while I created a category in 2022 about the same person. I suggest that you create a redirect to Category:George Wieland. My suggestion is based on the fact that "George Wieland" is the current common use this historic person's name.

PDM license again

[edit]

Dear Ooligan,

Public Domain Images such as https://www.flickr.com/photos/60564189@N06/10594221445/ are NOT {{Cc0}} unless they are your own work. These images should be licensed as {{PD-author-FlickrPDM}}

Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 20:20, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you license a flickr PDM image as {{Cc0}} , the flickr bot will NOT PASS the image because it is the wrong license. Please see this file history Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 21:02, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Please make sure to add the correct license tag or you will just create more work for other users to clean up. --MGA73 (talk) 14:58, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MGA73, how can I create a list of my uploads that need "clean up?" Thank you, -- Ooligan (talk) 21:13, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ooligan! It is your lucky day. Someone else have cleaned up. So if you just make sure to use the right license tag in the future everything is great :-) --MGA73 (talk) 13:39, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MGA73, Was it "luck" or your bot MGA73bot2? -- Ooligan (talk) 14:14, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can't it be both? ;-) --MGA73 (talk) 14:28, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is your bot, so you have created "luck" by targeting files by their Flickr source account(s) and your bot performing actions which allow the "flickrreview" bot to work to help clean up the backlog of files at Category:Flickr images needing human review. Er det rigtigt? (Is that correct) @MGA73? -- Ooligan (talk) 14:39, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ja, det er rigtigt :-) There was about 96k files in Category:Flickr public domain images needing human review and User:Leoboudv asked me if it was possible to do something with a bot. Both on this category and the other categories with files that need a Flickr review. --MGA73 (talk) 14:46, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For English readers here, your Danish response to my last question was "Yes, that is right" (Ja, det er rigtigt).
  • Thank you for your great work at resolving this backlog of Flickr files needing human review.
  • Tak for dit store arbejde med at løse denne pukkel af Flickr-filer, der har brug for menneskelig gennemgang.
Did you and your bot create a permanent solution for future Flickr files uploaded from these Flickr accounts that your bot recently targeted, or will you and your bot have to again clean up backlog generated from future uploads from these same Flickr accounts?
--MGA73 (talk) 16:54, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
English translation of MGA73 response above:
"No, it is a temporary solution. { {PD-author-FlickrPDM}} is for files where we determine that the user on Flickr is the photographer. So Leoboudv and I have spent several hours looking at the files in the category to assess whether it looks like its own photos or if it is copyvios. If it is old photos then the correct license is e.g. { {PD-old-70}} and if it is files from the US state, then it is some PD-USGov template that should be used. So going forward, the files should be checked by humans and not by a bot."
Ooligan (talk) 00:42, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: I'm sorry but since you continue to upload PDM flickr images as CC0 on commons, your images appear here and Here

These images should be uploaded on Commons as {{PD-author-FlickrPDM}}

  • A different User recently uploaded a PDM licensed file at flickr with a CC0 license on WikiCommons and the flickrbot did not pass the image. So, I had to change the license as this file history shows. See this edit

MGA73 and I brought this category down from 95,000 images some time ago and we are now both exhausted. Best, --Leoboudv (talk) 20:40, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Filename prefix

[edit]

Hi Ooligan, I noticed recent EU2024BE files have "- EU2024BE" as a prefix in the filename. For example the first 200+ files in Category:Photographs taken on 2024-04-30. Can that be avoided? "EU2024BE" would be a lot better than "- EU2024BE" Thanks. // sikander { talk } 🦖 14:56, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I sometimes add extra information and dates to files using Flickr2Commons (F2C) with a dash "-" as separation. I must have deleted my draft file name addition- except for the dash. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. // Ooligan (talk) 16:52, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that file in the Category:Marines which would also be useful in some other categories. Because it includes Iwo Jima in World War II and a USMC working dog, it would be easier for lots of people to find that photograph if it was moved here Category:United States Marine Corps in World War II or here Category:Battle of Iwo Jima.

Thank you.

Categories, please

[edit]

Hi Ooligan, it is great that you upload a lot of files to Commons, but please also take time to add proper categories to them, especially for photos of leaders and ministers.

Category:Cyberwarfare and a generic North Atlantic Treaty Organization on this photo is not very helpful. Perhaps you can create a category for an event and add the bilateral relations category there so these images don't get lost in the mass uploads. Or if you don't have time to categorize the images, please consider creating a holding category so other users can identify images that need work and can help out. Thank you. @Sikander, Do you have a suggested name for your proposed holding category? Thanks, -- Ooligan (talk) 16:33, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, same as we discussed here: User_talk:Ooligan#Holding_category. Have a good weekend! Regards. // sikander { talk } 🦖 20:32, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Another example: File:Haiti visit by United States Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield on July 22 2024 - 43.jpg and this photo has names of the Haitian politicians too so it should be easy to identify them. // sikander { talk } 🦖 12:48, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
