Research Interests: diagnosis and treatment of pancreato-biliary disease using ERCP and interventional EUS

Dr. Hideyuki Shiomi graduated from Kindai University in 2000. He received a Ph.D. from Kobe University in 2010 and then became an assistant professor in the same year.

Dr. Shiomi specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pancreato-biliary disease using ERCP and interventional EUS. He mainly focuses on detecting early pancreatic cancer and has contributed to establishing a pancreas checkup at Kobe University Hospital.

Dr. Shiomi is an international educator in advanced endoscopy. He teaches advanced endoscopic techniques not only to Japanese endoscopy trainees but also to overseas endoscopists through international hands-on training and live demonstration. Furthermore, he has contributed to scientific journals and congresses and received some grants, including Travel Grant at Asian -Oceanic Pancreatic Association 2018.
