Marilia Carabotti is a Gastroenterology specialist (2012), and she reached a Ph.D. in Experimental and Clinical Hepato-Gastroenterology (2015). From 2016 to 2020 she has been a research fellow (post-doctoral training), at the University Sapienza of Rome, Italy.

Currently is a researcher in Gastroenterology and a member of professors’ board of nursing school and school of medicine at the University Sapienza of Rome, Italy. Since 2020 she is part of the medical staff physician in the Gastroenterology Unit of Sant’Andrea Teaching Hospital, Rome, Italy.

Her research activity is focused on colonic diverticular disease, gastrointestinal functional disease and gastrointestinal malabsorption. She is a member of the Italian Society of Gastroenterology (SIGE) and the Italian Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (SINGEM).
