Our History
Eksmo was founded in 1991 as a book distributor. In 1993, it entered into independent publishing. By the mid-1990s, Eksmo Publishing House held a leading position in the Russian publishing market. Its success was generated by the crime fiction of Alexandra Marinina, Daria Dontsova, Danil Koretsky, and Tatiana Ustinova.
According to 2021 data of the Russian Book Chamber, Eksmo is the leading Russian publisher in the number of fiction, nonfiction and children’s titles published.
Every year Eksmo publishes about 7000 titles by about 8000 authors. Among Eksmo authors are Daria Dontsova, Alexandra Marinina, Tatiana Ustinova, Dina Rubina, Victor Pelevin, Jan Sincero, Holly Webb, Oleg Roy, Vadim Panov, Maria Metlitskaya, Igor Ryzov, Nadezhda Zhukova, Mike Omer, Anna and Sergey Litvinov, Terry Pratchett, Isaac Asimov, Margaret Atwood, Mark Manson, Holly Black, Joe Dispenza, Liu Cixin.

Inspiria
Inspiria caters for even the most demanding reader, offering them new emotions and experiences. Each book contains additional materials that fully elucidate its world. You can use readers’ reviews to help you find your book among the best on offer. You will want to retell the stories and not put these books down.
Fanzon
Fanzon is imprint of Eksmo, established in 2016, that publishes science fiction and fantasy titles. Authors published by Fanzon include among others: Joe Abercrombie, Liu Cixin, N.K. Jemisin, Patrick Rothfuss, Guy Gavriel Kay, R.F. Kuang, John M. Ford, Tad Williams, Martha Wells, Neal Stephenson. Fanzon also publishes novels based on Star Wars and Firefly and comic series by such authors as Joe Hill, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Alan Moore and Garth Ennis
LikeBook
LikeBook, a leading Russian YA publisher, aims to introduce young readers to legendary international bestsellers as well as new Russian authors and help the social media generation find books reflecting their values. Komilfo
KOMILFO is a leader in the Russian comic book market and publishes amazing, fun and colorful comics and books on the highest professional level and with great love. Its mission is to make comic books available to everyone and to introduce the best of the world's comics and graphic novels masterpieces to Russian readers. "Komilfo" is famous for the comic book series: Adventure Time, Rick and Morty, Marvel Classics, Star Wars, Scott Pilgrim, The Magicians, Deadpool, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and many others.
Bombora
Bombora is a leader and the fastest growing publisher in the Russian non-fiction market. Bombora produces the latest non-fiction by Russian and international authors within 17 thematic areas. Since 2018 every 3rd applied book in Russia has been published by Bombora.
ODRI
ODRI is an imprint within Bombora. It specialises in books for girls: about fashion, beauty, style, relationships, inner harmony and self-actualisation.
BREAD-SALT
BREAD-SALT is an imprint with Bombora focused on culinary publications. Being a leader in the culinary market publishing Russian and international bestsellers, it specialises in publishing tasteful books that help home cooks and inspire professionals.
Eksmo Kids
#eksmo_kids is a children's and middle grade publisher of kind books for the whole family, from retro classics to contemporary children's bestsellers. We collaborate with the world's leading brands, such as Disney, Marvel, LEGO, and Fisher Price. Among our bestsellers are "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, as well as world bestsellers: "The Chronicles of Narnia" by Clive Lewis, "Percy Jackson" by Rick Riordan, "The Bartimeus Trilogy" by Jonathan Stroud and many others.

The Group
In 2012, the publishing group Eksmo-AST was established. The group is made up of the Eksmo and AST publishing houses. The integration of two leading players in the publishing market was a logical step in the development of the potential of both houses. The resulting synergistic effect led to Eksmo and AST enjoying new development opportunities in terms of distribution, social and interdisciplinary projects, human and technical resources. Meanwhile, both publishing houses maintained their own independent editorial policies.
The group now includes the publishing houses Eksmo, AST, Azbuka-Atticus (since 2021), the online book store Book24.ru, and the integrated retail network Chitay-Gorod-Bukvoed. The group’s business profile also includes the LitRes Group and the Mann-Ivanov-Ferber Publishing House.

He is a co-owner of the integrated retail network Chitay-Gorod-Bukvoed with a 30% share and a controlling shareholder of the LitRes Group. In 2018, he stood down from the position of General Director of Eksmo Publishing House to become President of Eksmo-AST Publishing Group.
Oleg Novikov is a board member of the Russian Book Union, an Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, an active public figure, and author of a number of programs to promote reading in Russia, including the National Program of Reading Support and Development. At the initiative of Oleg Novikov and the Russian Book Union, book forums are held in all Russian regions, and new facilities for readers (bookstores and libraries) are being opened. He opposes copyright infringement online and supports the creation of legal e-book content and resources.

In 2007, Evgeniy Kapyev started working at Eksmo as the executive director of the Editorial Office of Foreign Literature. In 2008, he became head of the Nonfiction Editorial Office. Under his leadership the sales of nonfiction saw a 7-fold increase. In 2017, the editorial office was converted into an independent imprint - Bombora Publishing House.
Evgeniy Kapyev is a key initiator in export of translation rights in the Russian language titles worldwide. He considers it a priority to actively use digital technologies in the publishing industry, including the use of Big Data, and developing online accounts for authors that can be used to track readers’ reaction in real time.
