British actress of Indian descent?

edit

Found the solution to this. Look at the page of Saoirse Ronan and change it accordingly. Why not British-born Indian actress (if you she is that obsessed with being called a British citizen)!! She's not British like it says. Both her parents are Indian; it's not Indian "descent." She lives in India; also not Indian "descent." Anant-morgan (talk) 21:45, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Per MOS:CITIZEN, she is British, as well as the fact that India doesn't allow dual citizenship. Saoirse Ronan may not be a good example her since she possibly has dual citizenship unlike the subject. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:13, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
But ethnicity wise, she has also been Indian and lives here too. We did same for Akshay Kumar and didn't call him 'Canadian.' In fact, the only reason calling her "British of Indian descent" would be if she preferred that way. Anant-morgan (talk) 11:34, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Kumar was originally an Indian citizen, he was Canadian for a decade, then reverted back. Besides, we do not use ethnicity in lead, only citizenship/nationality. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:16, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
she holds dual citizenship 152.58.79.70 (talk) 05:57, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
"British-born" would be incorrect too because she was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. "Indian descent" suggests that she was born to Indian parents outside India, which is not the case. IsFanXianAlive (talk) 11:52, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit request for: personal life section: During an appearance on Johar's talk show Koffee with Karan in 2014, Bhatt incorrectly named Prithviraj Chavan as the President of India.

change the part of the page section personal life "prithviraj chavan" to "Prithviraj Chauhan". reason: spelling mistake issue as the mentioned figure is an important historical figure of India. Lucifer Lawliet (talk) 20:13, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done The person named to is not the important historical figure you are referring to. RegentsPark (comment) 20:42, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I tried digging into the matter a bit more, and the reason why I still stand by my edit request is because the clip from 'Koffee with Karan' shows her spell it as Chauhan, not Chavan, which is the official name and pronunciation of the politician and former CM of Maharashtra and I could not find any official source that explicitly states or clarifies Alia's statement as to whom she meant: the historical king Prithviraj Chauhan or the then chief minister of the state of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan, the 17th CM of the state. The article very likely, contains speculation to somewhat justify Alia's momentous blurting out of the name, and it may be an attempt to hide a facet of lack of knowledge that Bollywood actors and actresses have displayed continuously about their own country and culture. to say she is a 'British actress' is misleading and implies she works in British films. Instead she is an Indian actress who works in Indian films and lives in India, she just happens to be born in England. 152.37.68.182 (talk) 11:19, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit extended-protected}} template. Also, please read over MOS:CITIZEN which says to list her nationality which is British as noted in discussions above and in the archive. Ravensfire (talk) 13:07, 18 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Change " alia bhatt is a British actress to alia bhatt is an Indian actress" she holds dual citizenship to India n Britain. Works in Bollywood, indian film industry.. so how exactly is she a British actress? Her father is a producer in Indian films, mother who is from Britain, has worked in Indian films all her life, loved here in India. 152.58.79.70 (talk) 05:56, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Reversal

edit

Hi @Krimuk2.0, (tbh) I still feel a need to trim this article while (I think) I understand why you've (partially) reverted my edit (I didn't explicitly explain it in the edit summary) and (I know) I'm ignorant: imo, it's fine to remove "as a child" in "Reply

None of these are major issues to fight over. They might be your preference, but I don't think mentioning her acting debut "as a child" or the fact that she has a daughter affects MOS:LEADLENGTH in any way whatsoever. Additionally, mentioning the age gap of Kapoor (an adult) and Bhatt (then a minor) is pivotal to what the plot of Balika Vadhu is, and I see no reason for its removal.
