The Ten Commandments

edit

I'm not sure how to do this, but the link on this page should go to the page for the movies, not the religious concept. Thanks to anyone who can fix it!

McCarthy

edit

The throw away mention of McCarthy should be removed. McCarthy had nothing to do with Hollywood. Calling it the "McCarthy Era" gives the false impression McCarthy went after people in Hollywood. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.198.53.164 (talk) 11:56, 21 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

More than that, exactly when and how was his career hurt by being "grey-listed"? His first film score was 1952, and within five years he did the film score for "The Ten Commandments". Although the claim comes from his own fan's website, is it well founded? cwmacdougall 16:00, 17 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
There is a basis for the claim; I've added some more sources and detail. And calling it "McCarthy Era" is useful shorthand, generally accepted. cwmacdougall 21:00, 21 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Order of lists

edit

Why are some lists of works on Wikipedia in forward chronological order, and others in backward? Is there a standard? Probably not. But then shouldn't each and every list state at the beginning what order it is in? (And, for that matter, also state that the year/s in parentheses after each work is the date of premiere, creation, composition, or whatever it is?) Wikipedia is a great thing, but having amateurs working on everything does present certain challenges for consistency and clarity. QwertyUSA 18:02, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lists should be in chronological order starting with the earliest date. 67.78.143.227 (talk) 19:44, 23 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lists should be in reverse chronological order starting with the latest date. 174.4.33.228 (talk) 12:09, 26 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not true. "Chronological lists, including all timelines and lists of works, should be in earliest-to-latest chronological order." see: WP:SALORDER -- megA (talk) 14:57, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

World War II service

edit

Although Bernstein served in the United States Army Air Forces during the World War II era, no reliable sources found as of yet state that he served overseas in a war zone during the war. Accordingly, Category:American military personnel of World War II was removed from the article. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 02:36, 19 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
