Science fiction romance

I tried to update the Science Fiction Romance section. I do understand that my sources might not have been the most legit (websites instead of print books). I apologize for that. I understand why it had to be deleted. However, the information that was added after my attempt to update it is very much out of date. Ellora's Cave hasn't been in business for years. Neither has Silhouette. The market is mostly Indie now. Fantasy is NOT part of Science Fiction Romance. It is its own subgenre. Paranormal is also its own subgenre. I'm working with SFR writers and other experts to record the history of SFR more thoroughly and accurately. I would very much like to work with others contributing to this section.CynthiaSax (talk) 15:16, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

Propose changes to "Further change" section

Hi! I am working on an overhaul of the "Further change" section of this page. Currently, this section utilizes outdated sources (almost all of them from 2007 or earlier) and does not discuss topics I believe are relevant to the section.

In order to update/fix this section, I am planning to update the first paragraph to include examples of changes from this century (the article currently only uses information and changes from the 1980s and '90s). I also want to introduce a new paragraph about the evolution of character demographics, specifically discussing how more minority identities are being included in romance novels today compared to past decades. I will be focusing on characters with disabilities or who are not neurotypical, people of color, and those who identify as LGBT+. Additionally, I will fix any information that is clearly inaccurate/outdated.

My goal here is to simply update the section to be more inclusive and accurate, so I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice! I've also included a list of the sources I've currently compiled to use.

Hi LaraNilsson2014, re your recent additions to the lede, wouldn't it be more appropriate to include them in the definition section? Also the focus of this article is with genre fiction romances, rather than literary fiction romances, like those of, say, Nathaniel Hawthorne, or the Brontë family, though clearly they are linked. I agree. This new material is too much for the lead, would be more appropriate in the definitions section, and some of it appears to be alternate definitions and opinions and probably should be noted as such.—Anita5192 (talk) 17:45, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
