Clement Richardson

Clement Richardson (1878 - ?) was a professor, college president, and author. He served as president of Lincoln Institute in Missouri. He edited The National Cyclopedia of the Colored Race[1] and featured in it.[2]

According to his profile in the Cyclopedia he edited, he was born in Halifax County, Virginia.

He worked as a newspaper correspondent before joining the faculty of Morehouse College in Atlanta. He wrote for various papers during his career. In 1908 he joined the faculty of Tuskegee Institute. In 1918 he was chosen by the Board of Regents in Mississippi as the new president of Lincoln Institute. He served until 1922.[3] Lincoln Institute became Lincoln University during his tenure as its president.[4] He missed a Negro State Teachers event due to coal shortages at the school and in Missouri.[5]

He married and had four daughters.[2]
