Shortcuts
Please review the AWB guide before making a request. Users with under 250 non-automated mainspace edits or 500 total mainspace edits are rarely approved. You can check your non-automated contributions on XTools. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to request access. For bots, please consult the Bot Approvals Group or bureaucrats' noticeboard about adding AWB access.
This page is for requesting AWB Access for English Wikipedia only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for that purpose; first create the account, give it a userpage declaring it to be your alternate account, then make the request using your main account.

It's been a little over a year since I picked Wikipedia back up, and I'm curious about whether/how AWB would speed up my work. As a result of the Portalspace cleanup efforts, many thousands of subpages such as Portal:Washington, D.C./Intro have been refunded and need need to have the text notice removed from them. This is a task that is impossible to do manually, UnitedStatesian (talk) 23:03, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Primefac, according to WP:VG/A, the Kingbotk plugin that can be added to AWB can help speed up the process, considering there are almost 3,000 pages that need assessing in WP:CBBALL. Brian (talk) 22:10, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
