False citation

[edit]

To the editors who falsely listed nominations for the 43rd Saturn Awards: Your cite to http://www.saturnawards.org/The-Saturn-Awards-Annual-Nominations.php goes to a page saying "NOMINEES WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON!" The site to the main page at http://www.saturnawards.org/ says "THE NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2017 43rd ANNUAL SATURN AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON MARCH 02. STAY TUNED........" (Capitalization verbatim as per original source.) Just what are you trying to pull? --Tenebrae (talk) 00:12, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, I've archived the pages today as proof that the nominations were not yet announced: http://www.webcitation.org/6ocppRJd9 and http://www.webcitation.org/6ocpquNsx. --Tenebrae (talk) 00:16, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, the Germans are less amused, too... :-) But what's the explanation for that fake stuff? --Koyaanis (talk) 17:24, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wish I knew. Those people then added another fake citation today, falsely writing, "Nominations were officially announced in March 2, 2017, four days after being revealed by mistake on the Academy's website" when there's not one word about any purported accidental "reveal" four days earlier. In fact, there's no date whatsoever on the cited page. --Tenebrae (talk) 18:40, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
